We've reached the point of winter where the snow clearing machines come out and take away our snowbanks. This is always extremely entertaining, although I was a little stressed when I arrived to pick Matthew up from forest school and realized that there was no way I could get by as the road was full of dump trucks waiting their turn to be full of snow. I've heard the whole maneuver referred to as "Ottawa's ballet". Certainly these equipment operators are extremely efficient. The small sidewalk plow drivers this year drove like maniacs. I was glad we were well out of the way!
This year they did not eat our lamppost, but they did run over (pulverized) a large rock that was part of our neighbour's landscaping.
