We spent the night at Muriel's in order to break up the trip back from the wedding. Normally we like to take a few extra days when driving that much but of course we had another camp (organized this time with neighbours) so we couldn't stay.

We went to Muriel's church in the morning, where the kids were amused by an object lesson involving turning off the lights and popping balloons with a fork. I went back up to church after the balloon popping so I'm not quite sure how it tied into the lesson. It was pretty nice to have the three kids go to Sunday school by themselves while Brendan and I got to stay in the service!

After church we celebrated Matthew's baptism birthday with both of his godparents. I think Matthew was most excited by the fire part. You might have noticed that we are a little flexible on the actual anniversary date - we figure that if we can get as many godparents together in the same room that's more important :)

My cousin Chris married Arlene! Isn't she gorgeous?

Amelia was exhausted so I spent more of the ceremony than I would have liked marching her back and forth to avoid disrupting things unduly. After the ceremony the kids all behaved very well - mine had a blast playing with Jacob and the little flower girl. I think we even put all the golf markers back in the right places...

The food was very good too. Nibbles beforehand included sweets and donuts. As you might imagine, this was quite popular. The kids were given a special kids meal, except for Elizabeth who was invited to eat the amazing adult food. Of course she made a little bit of a fuss and demanded to have veggies and dip and fries. I made her and Matthew try the fancy (exquisite) adult desserts when they were offered them. Matthew quite liked his, but Elizabeth thought she should have been given ice cream like Amelia. Silly girl.

We were super amused when Amelia stashed most of her fries in her dress for later.

It was a lovely wedding.

Week two was a short week because of the statutory holiday. Elizabeth and Matthew both did the KV ballet camp as Elizabeth wanted to do a camp with her friend Olivia.

I picked Matthew up at lunch and took him to the GNAG sports and games camp in the afternoon as the dance camp was only a half day and he really wanted to do camp all day.

Both of them really enjoyed the camp. I was quite impressed at how much choreography the girls learned in only four days!

After the last recital for the camp was finished, we bundled the kids into the van and headed straight for Toronto.

A bumper crop year for cherries at Dave and Karen's, so we came to help liberate some of the loot. I actually spent less time up the tree than normal, feeling off balance due to pregnancy.

The kids had fun playing together while Margaret, Karen and I worked. (Elizabeth and Matthew were at camp)

Vera, Richard, Astra and Magnus came to visit us for brunch after church. Apparently the only photo I took was of Astra and Elizabeth up a tree. Climbing trees and hanging out (telling secrets) is the current occupation of the pre-teen girls on our street.

Later that afternoon we had our annual Canada bbq hosted by our amazing neighbours. Matthew and Simon spent practically the whole time chasing each other up and down the sidewalk on their bikes. Little Elizabeth, Amelia and Charlotte did their best to follow. It was a wonder they didn't flatten anyone.

It's so nice to live in a neighbourhood with lots of kids that are friends and therefore can hang out!
