Cabane à sucre

Field trip to see the sugar shack at the Vanier Museopark! It was pretty cold and the buckets were full of frozen sap - I guess we'll have to go back another time to see the sap actually dripping out of the trees. Elizabeth didn't mind because she got to take the bus with best friend Adrienne. And Mommy, but that was a secondary consideration. Elizabeth and Adrienne were the only kids from her class that got to go on the field trip because not enough parents volunteered, so we tagged along with another class ("the funny teacher's class", according to Elizabeth, because that teacher is always teasing her.)

There were pancakes, and hot chocolate, and maple taffy... I think Elizabeth's favourite part was playing hide and seek in the bushes with Adi though.

While Elizabeth was having fun at the sugar shack, Matthew was hanging out with Auntie Yukiko.

She posted a couple of photos on Facebook, along with hilarious updates to keep us in the loop:

"Yukiko's babysitting service -> My nephew, Matthew (13 1/2 months) Bonus ... He can learn some Japanese language. Plus he saw some Japanese cuisine (My breakfast)" and "He is learning kanji!"
