We noticed recently that Elizabeth was calling her father "Brendan" instead of "Daddy". We had this nomenclature problem before with her Grandmas.
Guess what Brendan calls me most of the time?
Hint: Elizabeth has taken to calling me "Mommy-dear".
We aren't keen on having Elizabeth call us by our first names so I'm trying to be more intentional about calling Brendan "Daddy", at least when Elizabeth's within earshot. Although I confess I'm slightly tempted to come up with a more amusing nickname.

Ha! Ali likes calling me "Rachel" if she's with her friends and they're calling me that. Maybe she thinks it's the cool thing to do? I dunno.

Our 4-year-old often calls her daddy by his first name too. Same reasons, I think. :)
I can't decide whether to be proactive about discouraging it or not...
