Sick

Elizabeth set a new household record for vomiting today (22 times in less than twelve hours).  We ended up restricting her fluids on the advice of the nice nurse from Telehealth Ontario, offering only one or two sips of breastmilk or water every five minutes.  Poor kitty very pathetically begged for water all day.  Every time we gave in and let her have as much as she wanted ended badly.  Old Faithful geyser badly.  So we set a timer and explained she had to wait after every sip.

Obviously this was difficult to grasp because every time we told her she had to wait for one kind of fluid, she'd ask for a different one.  "Hot chocolate?" "Nursing?" "Mummy's water?"

We had to do a lot of laundry because she thought that saying DONE and pushing away the bucket might make the throwing up stop.

Hopefully we're not about to celebrate the second annual Pukefest.

Apparently anti-nausea drugs are generally not recommended for small children. She's slowed down (throwing up every twelve hours now) so the end is probably in sight. Main concern is to keep her hydrated, and hopefully she doesn't lose too much weight!

Also hopefully Daddy doesn't catch this - he only just managed to put back the weight he lost last year!
