Packing snow! Sort of...

It finally snowed! Elizabeth could hardly wait to eat breakfast before she was pulling on boots and dragging her parents outdoors.

She had snowmen to make, a snow castle to design and there was finally enough snow for a short sled ride! It was actually very strange snow; almost as if slush was falling from the sky. Mommy found it quite challenging to form into snowmen because it packed well at first, but then shattered into a million pieces if not left alone. We opted to paint eyes and mouth because just placing a carrot nose took nearly 20 minutes of frustration.

I think Elizabeth would have spent all day outdoors if we had let her. She loves playing in the snow! Sometimes we complain about being cold or winter and she'll look at us and jokes: "no it's not! It's SUMMER!" She finds this very funny.  Luckily she also really likes hot chocolate, so we still have a reliable way to entice her back into the house.

Wow - that is an amazing snow!! Especially the fort - we have never had enough snow to make that a reality!! I am quite jealous of Elizabeth right now.
